Hello Winona Online Democracy,

Tonight, Tuesday, August 5th, there will be a good speaker addressing the
problems and threats of Wal Mart.

-----

Tuesday, August 5th

7:00 p.m.

Stark Hall on the WSU campus

Bernie Hesse from the Food and Commercial Workers Union

-----

For more information, please contact Deb Cumberland at 452-1496.

I'm sorry for the short notice but please help spread the word and try to
make it if you can.

Thanks,

Dwayne Voegeli

Who organised this?
Why is Bernie Hesse suited to better address Wal Mart problems as opposed to say Joe "Bowling Ball, "Typical Winonan" Six-Pack?
What significance does the context Bernie Hesse's speaking have with the Winona scenario?
Where can I find more background information about Bernie Hesse?

I see a phone number to call, but since it is three fifty when I am writing this, and I am busy until five thirty in the evening and there is no chance at all I am waking someone up to ask. :-)

In 1992, we were told by the US press and media that George H. W. Bush was amazed by a modern cash register and in 2000 the same group stated that Albert Gore said that he "invented" the Internet.
Both are untrue, and both examples highlight the consistent failure of the members of the US press and media to check their sources before writing a story. Now we are told by the same group that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction in 2003 and again they have not checked their sources.
