Wal-Mart opening two years after fight

Thousands of customers are expected. At a 7:30 a.m. pre-opening
ceremony, politicians will show, a high school choir will sing the
national anthem and a local VFW post will present the flag. That
afternoon, a Minnesota Wild player will sign autographs.

I suppose we should be prepared for a similar celebration on
the occasion of Winona's Wal-Mart grand opening. Hopefully, no one will be
trampled in a rush for $30 DVD players, and our politicians won't take an
"In your face! Winona First'ers" attitude.
