On Sunday, February 15, from 4:00 � 6:00 PM, in the Mittel Schule Building;
611 Broadway Avenue in Wabasha, Special Agent Coleen Rowley of the Minneapolis FBI office will speak.


Agent Rowley challenged the FBI on the repressing of information on terrorist activities before the 9/11 disaster. Rowley�s talk will focus on the U.S. Patriot Act, enacted after 9/11, and how civil liberties are being curtailed by this law.

Coleen Rowley has been a Special Agent with the FBI since 1981. In 1990 she transferred to the Minneapolis office where she assumed duties of Principal Legal Advisor which included oversight of the Freedom of Information Act.

In April 2003, after her attempt to warn the Director of the FBI and other Bush administration officials about the dangers of launching the war in Iraq, Rowley went back to her position as Special Agent. She has been speaking publicly on the topic of ethics and ethical decision-mmaking to various groups.

An open discussion with Ms. Rowley will follow her talk.

Rides to Wabasha will be available leaving at 3:00 PM from the Blue Heron Coffeehouse, 9th and Huff Streets in Winona. This event is being co-sponsored by the River Cities Alliance For Peace, the Southeast MInnesota Minnesota Alliance For Peace and the Winona Area Peacemakers.
