Vicki...honestly I think your statement about violence against women is a little contrived...Ms. Jackson, if you must...is a nasty girl (don't mean a thing)...this was shock and awe to promote her new album which is not doing well...her best seller "Nasty," from which the above lyrics were taken...was years ago. I understand that impressionable individuals (children and adult) can be influenced by imagery, but as they say you can also draw a connection between milk drinking and heroin use...because all users started out drinking milk... I didn't watch it either, but I've seen stills of the "offensive moment" on line and it wasn't all that shocking to me...you should see the shower gel commercials in Europe. I agree with you and Arlene about the misuse of the flag, however. People are wearing flags like they are Louis Vuitton logos...and they are not...I will spend my life defending your right to urinate on it, but I believe that the flag should be a uniting symbol of respect...something that was not evident, I think, during the Super Bowl...as for WSU...flags in every classroom...terrific idea...the money would be better donated to the food shelf, but it's a fine thing as far as I am concerned. An oddity about me...when I was in seventh grade my homeroom was Mrs. Smith...French class...so at eight every morning when I was twelve I said the pledge of allegiance in French...and to this day I always say the pledge of allegiance in French...I've gotten some strange looks over the years...I refuse to conform.
