[Winona Online Democracy]
I would like for everyone who is on Medicare or has
close relatives on Medicare to be aware of the first of several presentations
the Winona Senior Friendship Center and the Advocacy staff are going to have on
this new law that takes effect in 2006.
The first session coming up May 17th at
10am at the Center at 5th and Main street is going to review the
deficiencies of the law in general and then focus on the Medicare Discount
cards now available to seniors on Medicare.
If you want to get really upset with what our
government is doing to older Americans with this new law be sure to
attend. We need a lot of people to get upset and contact our
representatives in Congress. Mark Dayton and Gil Gutnecht are working for
changes but Norm Coleman is hanging on the party line that something good was
done even if it isn't perfect. That IS NOT TRUE. It is a bad
law. It will make you mad when you learn about what was given up to the
Drug companies.
Everyone is welcome. If you can't come to
this session, we will be having more sessions. I have made it my goal to
try to get the word out so something can be changed.
Thank you
Joliene Olson
