Just my 2 cents worth, but from what I can tell, once discussion moves to the national forum, it kind of dies down. I think that people post on the local forum because that is the one they are most familiar with and because they have some acquaintence or knowledge of the others posting on that forum.
I absolutely understand how very emotionally charged the issues of the war in Iraq are, but the truth is that these issues are hitting us pretty darn close to home, as more and more of our friends, neighbors, and family members find themselves serving in a war overseas, sometimes, quite to their surprise (I'm thinking of National Guard and reservists here). But I wonder if we can't keep the issue on the local forum, making it more a discussion among friends, rather than a larger, more anonymous forum?
