We still need folks to volunteer. Hope you will respond to either Pat Nolan or Lynn Theurer by an e-mail reply. We are pleased for all the volunteers noted per forum. Most candidates are confirmed. We expect all the September events to be held. However, we will confirm all General Elections forums, which are scheduled to be held after the September 14th Primary. League of Women Voters, Winona Unit and Co-Sponsors Calendar of Voter
Service Forums: September 2004 Update
Co-sponsoring organizations to date are: AAUW, Women�s Resource Center,
Winona Area PTA Council and Winona On-Line Democracy. The forums will
follow the MN LWV state voter services guidelines for a moderated
educational forum.
All forums will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM for races with six or more
candidates. Some forums will be from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The location for all
forums will be the council chambers of the Winona City Hall, 4th and
Lafayette Streets in Winona. We ask that all volunteers arrive at 6:20
pm for instructions on the order of the forum and to be ready for a live
public access cable TV broadcast. Radio and newspaper media are also
invited to attend. There are several tasks to do to be ready, like hanging
up the posters for your organization to acknowledge all the forum sponsors,
setting up all the chairs, checking the telephone line and putting out water
for our candidates at the Board table. We also need your help after the
forum to replace items and close City Hall.
Other Items Regarding the Forums:
THE WINONA LWV WILL PROVIDE THE MODERATORS FOR ALL FORUMS.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR EACH OF THE DATES. See the volunteers as know by
August 30, 2004.
