[Winona Online Democracy] I'd rather have a small turnout of folks that have studied the issues than a large showing of people that are guessing or picking the most photogenic.
A case in point: A few years ago, Minnesota had a primary in which a total nut case that was always filing for one office or another won the Republican nomination for, I think, Attorney General. She had the same Scandinavian first and last name as a popular local television personality. The Republicans, as I recall, had to run ads urging people not to vote for her. (This could just as easily have happened to the Democrats).
