[Winona Online Democracy]

I'd like to encourage any of you passionate users, either as posters and/or readers of WOD, to come in for a quick video interview with Tim Erickson. Recall we're a highly regarded franchise, so to speak, of MN E-Democracy and they'd like to include us in the UK story.

The Wenonah Room of CityHall is reserved from 2-5 pm for you to meet with Tim. Please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] --if you can come for a 10 minute or so slot with perhaps a short story 30 seconds to a minute you might like to share about WOD over the last 4 years.

This is really a significant development that the UK is funding the start up of 10 WOD like projects in England.

It would be great if you can help out in this effort. Thanks Randy Schenkat

E-Democracy is creating an online interactive presentation on our unique brand of "Local Issues Forums." We are including video testimonials from participants about why they participate in our forums and what kind of impact they think that their Local Issues Forum has had in their community.

I'll be visiting some folks in Rochester next Monday, to talk about launching a Rochester Issues Forum. While I'm on the road, I'd love to stop in Winona to collect your video testimonial or simply chat about E-Democracy - including some of the exciting developments that are taking place within our E-Democracy network (i.e. - the launch of several E-Democracy forums in the UK). I'm also anxious to hear about any new developments in Winona Online Democracy.

Or, I'd love to share some of my experiences at a recent workshop in Brazil on the topic of citizen participation in local budgeting. This workshop included citizen participation activists from over 18 different (mostly developing) countries. We took a close look at a 16 year experiment in Porto Alegre, Brazil in which citizens play an important role in setting budgeting priorities and identifying projects for local spending.

What are the implications for that kind of project on the E-Democracy work that we are all involved in?

Anyway, if you have time and would like to get together - OR most importantly, share your VIDEO story, please contact me.

Unfortunately, I need to be in Rochester by 6:30 PM - so, any meeting in Winona will have to take place early/mid-afternoon. I'll bring my video camera.

  :-)

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,
