[Winona Online Democracy]
According to this mornings article in the Daily
News the city seems to want this annexation their way or no way.
A quote from the article: 'Jerry Miller and
Eric Sorenson put a lump of coal in the stockings of Wilson and Winona
taxpayers,' Kirschmann said Tuesday. 'Now the lawyers are going to get
rich.'
Where**are the citizens of Winona on this
issue?? Do they not have an opinion as to their taxes going up to pay for
the lawyers or the water and sewer if this does go through? I know an elderly
lady who is a resident of Winona (property tax payer) who told me her taxes went
up 14% on her little house for next year.
I am actually amazed more Winona citizens are
not writing letters or attending meetings.
I am still so against any of this annexation.
I think it is wrong. He bought the land in Wilson township, his
development should be in Wilson township.
I cannot remember the name, but there was an
excellent letter to the editor in both newspapers about the
annexation.
What if* it were reversed the letter asked
and Wilson wanted part of the city?
Excellent point.
