If we don't want the community to grow, we don't want change, we don't want
to pay more taxes, we don't want immigrants and their kids to repopulate our
community unless they are like us, we don't want our neighborhood schools to
close then we need to live with the reality that we are at the end of the
road in having options that everyone will approve let alone like.

Maybe tents are the answer -- they don't cost much, we can open the doors,
rollup the side or relocate them for the view or to place them in the
neighborhoods, eliminating busing forever. We will not become attached to
them so when we don't need them they will be easy to dispose of, so long as
we don't allow color selection as some colors may cause us to become
attached. We could even ask the state to follow the California model
requiring that 40 percent of the classrooms need to be in portables, provide
by the state. That way when the school population declines the state can
send the surplus classroom to districts with growing pains.

We could also ask the state to annex our school district to Lewiston or La
Crescent then all the administrative costs and space to house them would be
their problem.
