I agree that a line has to be drawn.  I do not know what the current dress code is but I do think that how a person/student dresses reflects their values and how they see themselves. It is a parent's responsiblity to teach a young lady/man how to dress properly.
I am also wondering if Christian t shirts/ buttons are allowed under the current dress code?  If  students have to look at this crap they certainly should be able to wear shirts with a positive Christian phrase on them.

I personally find the buttons offensive.  I believe in the right of freedom of speech BUT I believe that our rules for dress code allow for that and yet draw the line on certain types of buttons and T-shirt writings that are close to or cross the line.  (I sat on the current dress code committee and we had students on the committe)

I suspect that there have been other buttons and T-shirts that have been ruled as being unacceptable.  If these two girls are allowed to wear the buttons and if the situation is allowed to broaden to T-shirts by other students then we might as well throw out the dress codes and let everyone wear what they want.

The same 'freedom of speech' cop-out argument would probably fit shirts that advertise beer, sex, witches, profanity, etc etc etc.
