Here's a thought-How would ANY of you feel if I wore a
button that said "I hate your Penis", "I want to cut
off your Penis", or "I hate your Vagina", "I want to
rape your Vagina". Free speech? Offensive? Who is to
judge? We could even start talking about little
children. My point is that we need to draw a line
somewhere. We are allowed free speech in this country
but when it involves underage children (yes, someone
somewhere decided that 18 is the cut off point) we as
adults should be guiding them for their future (which
is exactly the role the High School is playing). My 19
year old daughter gave her 16 year old brother a shirt
for Christmas that I found offensive. It used the "B"
word in very large print. He is not allowed to wear
it. I think using that word reflects negatively on
women and on him for wearing it. I would question a
girl who would NOT be offended if her boyfriend wore
that. After 911 an employee at the Mayo Clinic wore
an American Flag pin on her uniform. She was asked to
remove it. NO pins, slogans, buttons allowed. They do
not want to offend their patients who arrive from all
over the world. There was alot of discussion and
controversy but it has been allowed and she was not
fired. Also, a female Doctor friend of mine after
being treated for late stage breast cancer wears a
button (not at work!) that states: "Breasts are for
sissies" Just another opinion. Mari Fleming
