Linda and all,

You are not alone in not understanding how this benefits our community. Another thought that I think needs to be considered is that the city management has stated many times that "they will be accused of making too much money off this annexation" well I am a city taxpayer --- paying for this annexation mess..... Does that mean that if the city management is correct (which I dont think they will after all they are already 40 percent over and it has JUST STARTED!) that l receive a check in the mail? Maybe someone could help me with this??

Let me get this straight> a developer requests water and sewer from the
city, the land owners along the way pay for it and the developer makes a
huge profit with each home he sells? Why? The developer should be paying
the entire installation fee. If my cousin and the other land owners dish
out 12,000. for water and sewer that is running past her house to the
development she is paying for the developer's need. It makes absolutely no
sense that citizens pay for this to run in front of their homes when they
did not request it. They are providing a service for the developer. If
this were happening in front of my home I would be beyond irate.

no matter how many times or ways it is answered I still do not understand
it.
the WG&D is getting water and sewer basicly free of charge, while citizens
like my cousin out on hwy 43 are paying 12,000. for hook ups. She is a
widow and has told me that she did attend several council meetings when she
started receiving information about this in the mail. She has also told me
that people are taking out loans to pay for these hook ups. What kind of a
situation is this that is putting pressure on these land owners to pay for
hook ups they do not want?
The residents did not ask for water and sewer as did WG&D. Why in the name
of heaven should taxpayers pay for the easement? none of this makes sense
to me nor does it sound ethical. It may all be perfectly legal, but it
surely does not sound ethical.
