I can't claim that the full referendum amount would be a hardship for me 
today, espcially since I'm saving so much money by taking the bus and 
bicycling instead of making car and gas payments. But I'm aware that in 
the past eight years my property taxes have more than doubled, perhaps 
tripled. So the rate of increase is a concern since I have no expectations 
that my paycheck will keep pace. My financial planner (mutual fund 
salesman, that is) claims that energy cost increases won't be a drag on 
the ecomony and stock market, so not to worry about retirement imcome. 
But still...
