Bill O'Reily and others purporting these conspiracies have really given
this considerable thought. Unfortunately it seems shallow, unproven,
and hypocritical. Bill O'Reily's own employer was selling Bill O'Reily
Holiday Ornaments. They have changed this, but only after Keith
Olbermann of MSNBC made the observation on the air. Those talking of
oppression of Christmas and Christians seem to have confused oppression
and free religion. It almost seems that when these groups talk of
Christian oppression that the referenced idea of what oppression really
represents is that they are now denied their "right" to censor
non-Christian religious expressions.
Before people launch into tirades about being oppressed perhaps they
should check their own moral plate.
I will make sure this is forwarded to the oppressed citizens of Dafur.
I am positive that their hearts, but not their stomachs, will be filled
by the actions of US Christians standing up for the word Christmas
rather than a concrete stance against real oppression and real
conflict. Perhaps I should rattle off the other 38 active conflicts in
the world today to further this point. When considered by itself,
Darfur, where some Christians are actually being oppressed versus a
nonexistent exaggerated conspiracy to oppress US Christians and free
religion; clearly Durfur is the only choice worth serious
consideration. No one has died in the United States from this
nonexistent oppression. Can anyone say that about Darfur?
