Skyrocketing health care costs and shrinking coverage is
a serious problem in our county and state.
The health care crisis hits farmers, small business people, and
self-employed people the hardest.
Over the last seven years the cost of health care insurance has increased
by over 142% for the Winona County government. That translates into over $800,000 of
taxpayer dollars. And that is just
one unit of local government.
At 7:00 p.m., on Monday evening, Dec. 19th,
the Winona County Board will host a special public Study Session on the topic of
single-payer health care reform.
Kip Sullivan is a leading state expert in health care reform. He will not only describe the root
causes of the problem but will also offer concrete and real solutions to the
problem that could be enacted at both the county and state levels.
The event is free and the public is welcome and encouraged to
attend. For more information,
please contact Winona County Commissioner Dwayne Voegeli at 453-9012 or by
e-mail at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
