Awhile ago, someone asked about the  alternate MPR settings and why they were necessary.
I just received this message today...good news for MPR listeners in Winona!

Winona-area Listeners: Re-tune Your Radios
Minnesota Public Radio Classical Music and News Stations
To Switch Back to Their Longstanding Frequencies

Dec. 16, 2005 —Minnesota Public Radio listeners in the Winona area will soon be asked to re-tune their radio dials to KZSE 107.3 FM for news and to KLSE 101.9 FM for classical music.

This fall, listeners were asked to temporarily switch their news and classical music radio settings while Minnesota Public Radio completed transmitter work to improve reception of its news and information station in Winona.

“We want to thank our listeners for their cooperation, understanding and continued support over the past weeks,” said Chris Cross, Minnesota Public Radio southeast district manager. “We hope to reward their patience with clearer, stronger and more consistent reception of our news and information programs on 107.3.”

The exact time of the switch back will depend on the weather, according to Cross. It is expected to occur during the week of Dec. 19.

Questions about the frequency changes may be directed to Cross at 507-282-0910.
