STATE LEADERS TO DISCUSS MINNESOTA EDUCATION
AT WINONA LEGISLATIVE FORUM
This coming Tuesday -- January 17
 
A panel of Minnesota leaders will discuss "Public Education in Minnesota - Preschool through College" at a legislative forum to be held in Kryzsko Commons (Baldwin Lounge) on the Winona State University campus.
 
The public event will take place in Winona on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and is open to anyone interested in public education in Minnesota.
 
The panel will include the following state leaders:
  • Senator John Hottinger - Mankato, Chair of Early Childhood Committee
  • Senator Sandy PappasSt. Paul, Chair of Higher Education
  • State Representative Gene Pelowski - Winona, ranking DFL member of the Higher Education Finance Committee, and member of the Education Policy and Reform Committee
  • Sharon Erickson Ropes - Winona, State President of the Minnesota Parent Teacher Association, and Minnesota State Senate candidate   
The panel discussion will include
  • a review of education issues in the past legislative session,
  • a preview of emerging issues for education for the 2006 session,
  • and a question-and-answer period. 
Come and add your voice to the conversation with our state leaders about public education in Minnesota.
