[Winona Online Democracy]
A few people had asked about the lack of public
seating in front of the County Courthouse.
I sent the County Administrator, Bob Reinert, an
e-mail last night and his reply is below.

Dwayne,
The short answer is that the company that did the stone
renovation (Art Stone) agreed to provide bench seating using the designs from
the molds they made for the courthouse.
They agreed to provide this at no cost, however this no cost issue
has
slipped the timing back. Although they thought the benches would
be
complete by last July then last October, they now say they should
have
it done over the winter and delivered sometime in the spring.
Mike Krage will contact them again today and check on their progress.
When
finished, this will definitely enhance the landscaping and provide a
very aesthetically pleasing backdrop for people to sit and admire the "jewel of
Winona."
