Yesterday Mike Kirschmann asked for some specific costs of the Lincoln
Relocation Plan and how they compared to the original estimates presented to
the public.

For the Goodview site the projected renovation cost for remodeling, storage
addition and site work was estimated at $267,640. The contractor was awarded
the bid at $387,500. The estimate for A&E fees (architect and engineering) was
blank, The actual cost was $26,400. There was no mention of the need for a
sprinkler system. The contract for the sprinkler system was over $145,000.

In addition, the projected costs included $54,459 for furnishings and $23,000
for voice and data. Total projected cost for the Goodview project-including
furnishings and voice and data-was $345,099. Actual contracts awarded thus far
is $558,900. This figure does not iinclude furnishings or voice/data estimated
to be $77,459. Add those estimated costs to the known costs and this project
will be $636,359. That would be 84% over the original cost estimates.

The scenario for the administration and library/media center renovation at the
WSHS appears to be at least double the cost of the original estimates.
