For those who might be interested in rallying and lobbying State legislators on the issues of fairness and equality for gays and lesbians, there is the upcoming Just Fair Lobby Day on Thursday, April 27 in St. Paul. An advocacy group called Out Front Minnesota helps organize this day to call attention to the so-called anti-gay marriage amendment proposed in the legislature and to highlight other issues affecting the GLBT community. I have close family and friends who are gay, so I take this event seriously and show up every year to put in my two cents on their behalf. If any of you feel this is important to Winona and to your family or friends, you can find more information at www.outfront.org. They are looking for more people from District 31 to sign up for the day.
