I don’t think the board or
administration ever said SOFA was doing anything wrong. What they did say
was that current legal opinion by their legal council makes control of public
funds on public school programs their responsibility. It is hopeful that
whom ever gets elected they will also be smart enough to follow the advice of
their legal council so as to avoid lawsuits and penalties for breaking the law.

While I agree that people should sign their names at a blog
isn't it sad that a small school district like this can be so divided that
people are afraid/concerned to post their names?
I have been told (but have no proof) that many of the
people posting at the Winona School Blog are teachers/employees of the
district.
On another topic I think the school board was wrong when
they 'took' SOFA's hard work and now want to reap the benefits of the arts.
Can someone tell me why the board feels SOFA was not
doing a good job? No one has said what the group was doing wrong, I
thought the entire board/ administration wanted only what was best for 'the
children'.
Let's hope we get 2 new board members who can think on their
own this November. How long can this board continue in their 7-0 voting?
I find it very hard to believe that they always all agree.

From the quality of the comments on at
least the WDN blogs and due in part because the posts do not require names it
is not worth wasting the time to engage the nameless authors.
Winona On Line Democracy still, in my
opinion, provides the better forum for dialog with hopefully the place for
ideas to form and be discussed which may lead to positive changes. The
blogs offer nothing other that to point out how angry and shallow people can be
without constructive solutions.

I was wondering if people are still using Winona On-Line
Democracy.
Has everyone migrated to the more juicy and racey blogs?
I was just told to check out a local blog.
Wow. Talk about "interesting" discourse.
I have never submitted a single post to a blog.
I've only quickly looked at the school district blog twice
and only because I was asked to.
I think having to sign your names to your posts elevates the
discourse tremendously.
If you have something to say, have the courage to attach
your name to it.
Is there still interest in Winona Online Democracy?
