October 4, 2006

MN Legislative Candidates for Senate 31 and House 28B General Election Voter
Service Forum October 4 sponsored by LWV, AAUW and Winona Area Chamber of
Commerce

The League of Women Voters, Winona Unit is co-sponsoring a local MN
Legislative candidate forum on October 4th with the American Association of
University Women and the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce.  The candidates
for Senate seat District 31 and House seat 28B are confirmed.   The
candidates for Senate seat 28 are also invited with confirmation pending at
this time.

The public is invited to provide the questions for the candidates by
attending the event in person.
Written questions to the candidates are generated from the audience in
attendance.   The moderated forum will be at 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the
Council Chambers of the Winona City Hall, 4th and Lafayette Streets in
Winona.   The forum will be broadcast live on the government access cable TV
Channels for Charter and HBCI.   Radio and newspaper media are also invited.
During the televised forum, a telephone line to call in questions will be
available.  The phone number will be noted during the event.

Local forums for General election candidates and referendum ballot questions
are scheduled through out October.  The League of Women Voters, Winona Unit,
the American Association of University Women, Winona Area PTA Council,
Winona Area Chamber of Commerce and Winona On-Line Democracy encourage all
voters to go and vote on the Election Day, November 7, 2006.  Absentee
ballot and or voter registration information is available from the Winona
County Auditors Office, Winona County Government Center, and First Floor, at
177 Main Street, Winona, MN.
