"It is interesting that "a better society" has now become a closed issue for
discussion. It is also interesting that in a recent study Republicans
contribute voluntarily more than Democrats which supports your statement
that some Democrats must be "just plain too selfish"."

An unidentified, unnamed "recent" study. Well, touche! You sure got me there.

OK I'll discuss the Liberal advances of the last 200 years or so.

I'm all in favor of a government of, by and for the people. You?

I'd support Women's Suffrage. Do you have an opposing view?

I think Child Labor Laws were a step in the right direction. Any thoughts?

The Civil Rights Act? The Voting Rights Act?

Maybe we could discuss The Securities Acts of 1933 and `34, those are a little
more "business like".

Or The Federal Reserve System, or Federal Deposit Insurance, or Social
Security.

All pretty good ideas in my book.

I'm happy to talk about those issues anytime, but is there really anything to
be
gained by debating these topics?

Did anyone really believe that there would be no cost to any of those advances?

There's work to be done and these debates just distract us from doing it.

Perhaps that was your point?

Bryon
