I fail to see what your ad hominum argument against "him" has to do with global
climate change (currently in a warming phase). If you, like approximately
30-40% of drivers leave your car running while you are not in it (my
observations at Kwik Trips in the mornings) does that mean that my arguments in
this discussion about global warming are invalid? Or perhaps if your house is
bigger than mine, your agruments are invalid!
And what exactly does the Bronze Age have to do with inything that is happening
today with respect to climate change? You have tossed that term out in nearly
every posting, but have failed to connected it to the current global climate
change discussion.
No one...absolutely no one who supports the premise that recent human activity
is providing positive feedback into a global warming cycle, has said that human
activity is the only change agent. I have given you much evidence that supports
the position that human activity is only one factor, but that it has become a
major factor. And all you can give me is an ad hominum argument against "him"
and some fluff about the Bronze Age?
You gotta do better than that!

PS: By the way "he" didn't pretent to invent the internet. "They" chose to
twist what he said for political purposes. Get your facts right.

Mr Hittner, I mentioned it because it tied in very nicely with my premise,
that being that "Global Warming" or climate change as I prefer to call it, is
part of the Earth's normal activity, when you agree with me that the Bronze Age
warming had nothing to do with human activity it seems to underline my thoughts
to a certain degree.
As far as co2 being produced in mass amounts, heck I agree, we should all be
better stewards to the planet, I guess some of us could start by getting rid of
a few mansions, flying commercial flights, and stop portending to be father
nature/inventor of the internet meanwhile consuming more than 5 average
families consume in power. The $$$ he is using to "lessen his footprint" is a
misnomer, he shouldnt use that much to begin with, he should take all the
excess $$$ he seems to not value so much and donate it to offset others
"footprints", that is what a true liberal steward of the environment would
do....
I respectfully agree to disagree with you on the topic og "global Warming"/
Climate change.

Mr. Woodford,
There have been thousands of "warmups" in the history of the world.
So???
There are many factors that are involved in climate changes. Stan did a
very good job of naming several of them. What he and others are conveniently
ignoring is the spiralling level of CO2 in the atmosphere and the correlation
of CO2 levels to global warming during past events.
CO2 is certainly not the ONLY factor, but it IS a factor and it IS
increasing at an alarming rate and it is doing so because we create in massive
amounts.
I haven't heard ANYONE assert that the "warming" during the Bronze age was
caused by human activity, so why mention it?

Leslie,
Just because some of us disagree with you in regards to climate change
doesnt mean we are wrong. Data and statistics will also show that there was a
warm up during the Bronze Age well prior to population levels of today and the
use of fossil fuels in combustable engines. While I wholehartedly agree with
you in the view that we consume WAY too much and this certainly needs to be
addressed on a global level, I feel use the term "Global Warming" is a misnomer
and at the very least, a scare tactic.
