I am to the point of being angry that all the people who lost either their homes or all their belongings will not be covered by insurance. These are people who have paid premiums since buying their homes and now are told water and mud are not covered. Insurance companies have gotten too powerful in this country over the years and now they are once again not going to pay our to policy owners. Shouldn't some type of legislation be approved and made into law that if a property owner has their property insured that is exactly what it means; it is insured. Period. No little loopholes that say 'not water, not leakage, not mud'. We are all hearing of people whose entire basements were in water and they will not get a dime from their insurance company. Now if the gas tank had exploded and their home had gone up in flames, they would be covered. Insurance should cover your property no matter what happens to it. Why is a mudslide different than a tree landing on your home? Most policies will cover if a tree lands on your house but not mud? Both are "acts of God". It is cruel that so many people have lost everything and the insurance companies do not care.
