HI, ive tried installing both winpcap 2.3 and the new 3.0 and I get the same problem on both with NT 4.0.
Everything appears to install fine but when i tried to run something like windump or snort i get an ERROR OpenPcap() device open: Error opening adapter Fatal Error, Quitting ... Using 3.0 windump -D does nothing So I looked through logs to try to figure out what was going on and it looks like the device driver npf.sys is not starting. I try to start it by going to control panel and devices and get the following error: Could not start the NetGroup Packet Filter Driver service on \\blah Error 0193: %1 is not a valid WIndows NT application. So i looked through the registry in hkey current machine \ system \ current control \ services \ NPF and I see the key ImagePath "system32\drivers\npf.sys" So I try chaning it to "C:\winnt\system32\drivers\npf.sys" and when i try to start it i get: Error 0123: The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. so then i try ImagePath "%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\npf.sys" and I get Error 0003: The system cannot find the path specified. Any suggestions on what I shoudl do to make this work? Thanks -- ?????????????????????????????????? ? Anthony S. Clark ? ? [EMAIL PROTECTED] ? ?
