Hello: I want to develop a sniffer/protocol analyser and I want to do GUI in VB. Can I implement the functionality in WinPcap and integrate it to Visual Basic GUI as a DLL? I read in the FAQs Q-9: Can I use WinPcap with Visual Basic? A: We don't support Visual Basic and we are not able to provide help on this subject because we don't know enough about this language. BeeSync has developed an ActiveX control that integrates winpcap packet capture functionality with Visual Basic or any other programming environment supporting Microsoft ActiveX technology. You can find it at http://www.beesync.com/products.html. The packetx concept is too cunfusing. Can anyone suggest how I can go about. I want to develop a protocol analyser for HTTP and FTP for my own interest to be able to capture packets and display its contents. I am just a beginner for it. I want to develop in Windows using VB as I have also prepared an SNMP Browser in VB and I want to extend it. How should I start my implementation?
