It sounds like you're getting packets looped back.  I ran into the same
thing --> see the discussion under PROBLEM WITH BUILDING A BRIDGE,

I created an application that is similar to an ethernet instrument: sends
and receives packets. When I transmit some packets I see them back in the
sniffing task even if the ethernet cable isn't connected. Is there some
configuration parameter  I can set  to prevent transmitted packets to be
