The mailserver for the winrad list is operational again. It was not sending messages since 15 Feb until today.
Since this server did not report any errors to me, I had no idea that anything was wrong. In the future, if any of you who are subscribed to this list ever experience sending an email to the list and then not seeing it come back to you on the list within a half hour, please send me a direct email telling me that there is a problem. Otherwise I won't know. Here are the messages you missed. Alberto will reply to the entire list: 1. Brynjar Berg brynberg at online.no Tue Feb 27 06:58:11 EST 2007 Yesterday, following some automatic update to Windows XP (I think) Winrad close down upon pressing the Start button, or pressing the play button (when selecting file as input). Previously it has worked perfectly, builds 27 - 28 - 29 inclusive. I have tried to install previous versions, but the same thing happens. Anyone else with the same problem? Hardware: HP Pavilion laptop, Centrino Duo, 2 Gig memory. 73, Brynjar Berg LA6UY 2. Tobias G. Finger / DG3LV tobias.finger at luebeck.netsurf.de Tue Feb 27 15:00:33 EST 2007 Hi Alberto ! When I start WinRad 1.24 (rev. 13.Feb.2007/17:26h) on my OS Win98SE it complains about a missing resource : "Resource Button 390N not found" (two times) after accepting it I found the LSB/USB/CW box grey only without any buttons. After hovering around with the mouse I could see the Button "noiseblanker", nothing else. The hints are working as usual. Again a message "Resource Button 590N not found" popped up. Former Version 123b28 dated 21.Jan.2007 did very well on Win98SE as all versions before since summer 2006. I have tried 124b29 on another PC running XP Prof. without any problems, so it's a problem with Win98SE. Are there any files missing on my system that are necessary for WinRad to run ? Thanks for your great work, I am using WinRad especially at ham-exhibitions and meetings to show the Softrocks SDR to people on my laptop PC. The graphics and usability of your program is far outstanding from the rest. People immediately recognize the novelty of the SDR concept and are very impressed by the clear sound. 73 de dg3lv Tobias 3. Keith Flint kcflint at frontiernet.net Tue Feb 27 19:00:41 EST 2007 Hi. I just downloaded Winrad on a system with win xp pro. installed current updates etc. with auto updates installed. The program will not run. It starts to run then it dies unexpectedly with no error, just goes away, not in the program list or anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks kcflint at frontiernet dot net 4. jjm jjm_f1ehn at wanadoo.fr Fri Mar 2 04:10:51 EST 2007 I have done some tests with the last version of Winrad comparing to the previous 1.23.. It runs perfectly comparing to the instabilities of the previous version. Before, I frequently had to restart the software. Today it runs continuously on the same computer (DELL 6400 with Core Duo / 1GO / Win XP SP2). Best 73 and thank you for this nice release. JJ F1EHN 5. Alberto I2PHD i2phd at weaksignals.com Sat Mar 3 17:44:45 EST 2007 I have uploaded Winrad V1.24 build 30 to http://www.weaksignals.com and to the mirror site http://www.winrad.org The changes are minor, so I kept the same version number (1.24), only the build number has been increased to 30. Starting from this release the build number is shown in the Help panel, in the upper right corner. Practically the only relevant change is the management of a new status code for the callback function invoked by an external I/O DLL. This allows, e.g., to change the frequency of a hardware DDS not only commanded by the Winrad panel, but also using the GUI of the user DLL that controls that DDS. This allowed a more user-friendly interface for the new SDR-X receiver. If you don't know what a user DLL for Winrad is, or if you know but don't care, then you don't need to download this release. Also the PDF document about the specifications for such a DLL was updated. 73 Alberto I2PHD ---------------------------------------------- end of messages 73, Jeffrey Pawlan WA6KBL _______________________________________________ Winrad mailing list [email protected] http://winrad.org/mailman/listinfo/winrad_winrad.org
