I thought I would post this based on the conversation that was going on today.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/columns/cableguy/cg1102.mspx This document says the Broadcasted will always be preferred OVER non-broadcasted. However, I can't find the document I found a while ago which spoke about encrypted vs. unencrypted. >From what I remember, In order of preference, it will attempt to associated in this order Broadcasted, Encrypted SSID Broadcasted, non encrypted SSID Non-Broadcasted, Encrypted SSID Non-Broadcasted, Non-Encrypted SSID Speed only makes a difference within the same category.
