How will all these W-acronyms blades and appliances deal with the load generated by 802.11n?

In our case, we are planning to deploy the WiSM (a controller embedded on a blade for a 6500 series switch). When we asked about scalability of the Airespace decentralized model (at least in terms of the WiSM), we were told that we could expect to manage up to 300 APs per WiSM blade and that it would not be a performance bottleneck for this population. Of course, everything works great in PowerPoint!

Does it mean that 2 years from now not only will you have to replace APs but also all those W-controllers?

It may mean that you have to buy more controllers to manage the same quantity of APs. In the end, I doubt you will get any vendor to answer that question (without chuckling).
