in the past we've used Pairgain DSL modems back to back between some old
buildings it
would've been too expensive to pull fiber. I think those units were acquired by
ADC,
and as I recall they run about $1500 for a pair.

we're a Cisco shop here, so recently we started looking at installing a couple
of the Cisco 878 G.SHDSL multiservice routers
back to back for a couple of old areas that recently popped up as too expensive
for fiber.

Subject: [WIRELESS-LAN] Off subject DSL point-to-point
Does any one have any experience in using DSL as a private
Point-to-Point solution where telephone lines already exist. Our local
township has a scenario where running fiber would be too expensive and
they already have extra phones lines. The buildings the wish to connect
are about 500 ft apart and they only need 1.5Mbps between them.
