-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 You might check out Extreme Networks as well, just for a pricing comparison. Assuming it's their wireless switch gear, Siemens bought up Chantry Networks, which is also re-branded by Extreme Networks as their gear. Neither of the two companies admits that up front, as they apparently have some agreement, but if you press them on it, they'll confess.
I demoed the Extreme gear, and Siemens showed up to give me some demo gear as well, at which point I discovered that the two were the same, and they wound up taking their test kit with them. I liked the Extreme/Siemens/Chantry system, it worked well and was easy to administer, though we ultimately wound up going with the Enterasys (Trapeze) gear instead, mostly due to network architecture issues. The Siemens/Extreme switch functions primarily as a router, you need to be able to contain your IP address space within it. We already had a multiple VLAN infrastructure in place to deal with wireless, and couldn't afford to replace all of our existing gear, so we wound up choosing a solution that I found to be less admin-friendly and buggier at the time (though it has improved greatly since), but it fit our network better.
