Subject: Cisco Location Server API Question
Wondering if anyone has experimented with the Location Appliance API
yet. From the recent (V4) release notes:
"Cisco Location Appliance API Program
The Cisco Location Appliance API Program is introduced with this
release. This program allows Cisco customers and partners to interface
with the Cisco Wireless Location Appliance API to create customized
location applications and solutions. Organizations can join this program
by accepting the Web-based license agreement. The API is available for
free. Optional integration and development support is available on a
fee-basis."
We have visions of maybe allowing an individual client to be "located"
by friends/co-workers on a map or in text without requiring login to
WCS- or something like that.
Has anyone played around yet with this API?
We're using the location appliance as one of the data inputs to our
"whereami" location based service. http:/www.rnoc.gatech.edu/whereami
There are people contacts on the whereami webpage if you want further
details into exactly what went into the code.
