Exact same scenario/fix noted at Syracuse University when we did an evail of
Bluesocket with our WiSMs. (Is a WiSM limitation- but Bluesocket could adapt to
overcome the issue).

We ran into similar problems with this configuration. The WiSM wouldn't allow a
DHCP broadcast to propagate through the controller, it HAD to relay the request
somewhere. Bluesocket HAS to see a DHCP BROADCAST in order to build a client
session, so the WiSM/Bluesocket configuration is a dicey one.

We wound up actually running DHCP on the Bluesocket box to fix the problem. It
isn't ideal, but there weren't too many options.

I know there is a bug CSCsf32185 about WiSM DHCP relay when using external DHCP
server. TAC engineer told me they cannot reproduce this problem in their lab,
and only some WiSMs they sold out having this problem.

We currently have the system setup so that the wireless client connects through
the AP to the controller, then BlueSocket device is set to dhcp relay. This all
works fine but we need to have the wism controller be the dhcp relay. After
shutting off dhcp relay on the blueSocket device the wireless client no longer
can receive an IP address. I can sniff the packets, it shows that the
controller is sending out a broadcast packet instead of the relay packet. The
broadcast never makes it to the dhcp server because it's on a different subnet.

Is there some option on the wism controller that I'm missing?
