Yes, indeed. We are very familar with this tab as we use it to set up all
of our 802.1x options in Vista. However, you may notice that the checkbox
in XP saying "Authenticate as computer when computer info is available" is
missing.

Re: [WIRELESS-LAN] Machine Authentication in Vista

We have been having problems with Vista as well. This particular option is
availble:
    Control Panel
    Network and Sharing Center
    Manage Wireless Networks
(Go into the properties of the connection your using 802.1x on)
    Security tab
    Settings button
    Configure button

Once you get to the security tab, it looks remarkably similar to what it
looked like in XP.

Subject: [WIRELESS-LAN] Machine Authentication in Vista

Hello,

Does anyone out there know where the button, checkbox or registry key is
to switch machine authentication off in Windows Vista when doing 802.1x
over wireless?

In Windows XP, we simply uncheck the box labeled "Authenticate as computer
when computer information is available."

Sincerely,
