I wanted to get other opinions on where Wimax is going to come into play over the next couple of years. I read where Cisco recently purchased a Wimax vendor for 330 million and with the recent ratification as a wireless standard and with lots of other big players in the game, what have other decided where it comes into play?
We have voice/video/data to the pillow for many years and needless to say the voice activation for the students is almost non existent now because all students have a cell phone glued to their side of their head with their own provider. Do others feel that wifi will go the same way? I know that wifi will always have its place but it is hard to think about giving wireless access to cover all areas of a dorm when students may not even use it in a few of years.
