Larry, We use idEngines to autoconfigure settings for our secure network (we use PEAP). If you are talking about using WPA-PSK, idEngines can also do it and it's actually a secure way to do this. You do not want the helpdesk or your clients knowing what the key is; it would defeat the purpose of using encryption.
