Just giving guys an update on this issue. It turned out that the
crashing was due to the fact that we were using special characters in
our web auth message. This was somewhat documented (the doc said it only
applied to WLAN profiles) and has been updated with some of the
information we were able to find: CSCsl41757. We are still running 4.2
and so far stable. Knock on wood.

Subject: [WIRELESS-LAN] WiSM code 4.2: FYI

If you are planning to upgrade to 4.2.61.0 on your WiSMs, be aware of
bug CSCsl77360. The bug is not documented in the release notes and it
hasn't been published, but basically, if you are lucky enough to run
across this bug (like us), your controllers will reboot constantly.

In our WiSMs the software loaded fine and everything seemed Ok until all
APs joined and we had to reboot the WiSMs due to a config change. After
doing that, the WiSMs just kept rebooting.

In addition, files in 4.2 are now stored in XML format, instead of
binary. So if you don't have a WiSM backup and you go back to 4.1, you
have to rebuild your WiSM from scratch.

I noticed there is a new release code that was just released, 4.2.99.0
and the bug does appear in the release notes, but there is no
workaround.

Thanks,

Hector
