Hi Hector, "One way to get around this is to define all your SSIDs in all of your controllers so that the APs never lose their configs. " The implication here is that now the SYSTEM only supports 16 SSIDs, not each AP- huge limitation. We have primary and secondary controllers for each AP defined, and manage what goes where. We have small groups of APs (like 2, or 16 depending on the application) that have special-purpose use and unique IDs. Then all other APs get our "common use SSIDs". But to apply the special use SSIDs only to the few APs that need them they have to be pushed to all APs, then deselected on the ones that shouldn't have these SSIDs with WLAN override. (and rebooted). When we loose SSIDs, it's never the special-purpose ones- it's the general use SSIDs that do have interfaces and like profiles on all controllers. -Lee Badman ________________________________

First, there seems to be a bug that causes this problem if the WLAN profile name and the WLAN SSID name are not the same. So just make sure those names are exactly the same. Second, and most exiting, APs download configuration from controllers they join. If you have an AP on controller X with SSIDs A and B and WLAN override on and the AP joins another controller with different SSIDs, the AP will lose its configuration. So when the AP goes back to controller X, your WLAN override settings are lost. Pretty fancy. One way to get around this is to define all your SSIDs in all of your controllers so that the APs never lose their configs. But we all know how practical that is. I'm starting to see what appears to be a trend. Where I have WLAN override selected and applied and in use for a while with no issues, it seems that randomly SSIDs are either dropping from the list of selected SSIDs and need to be reapplied, or are in the list and selected, but not actually being transmitted and require a reboot to get them to behave again. Is like config is partially lost. I have seen this around a dozen times over the last several months, not tied to any specific controller or WLAN, just feels a bit indiscriminate.
