Interesting idea...help them set it up right instead of prohibiting them. If that could work go for it. The 2 problems I would see are, they still won't ask for help and wind up doing it wrong and/or staff time to do that assistance.

In fact, our Helpdesk manager even approached me yesterday about assisting students in the setup and configuration of their routers.
