I'd say that a large portion of the students buy wireless
AP/router/switch combo's for use
at home. Then they tend to bring them to campus and use the "switch"
features without disabling
the "AP" portion. In other situations, even though we consider our
students technically savvy, they
truly have no concept of RF principles or how wireless technology
actually works. As with faculty
and staff, it's simply a matter of educating them and changing the
culture. If this is the first or second
year of being 100% covered it may take a year or two for the numbers to
reduce. It's easier to
change/control freshman attitudes and actions than it is juniors and
seniors, etc.

Even with 100% coverage, what do think are the reasons that students
are still connecting rogues? Are these rogues using .11n?

Has anyone had any success dealing with Rogue AP's?
Is anyone else seeing a lot of them this year?
We have 100% coverage in the dorms, and advertise this. We also
constantly tell people not to put up rogues, but it is very
challenging to control the rogues in our dorms.
