I haven't checked our number, but I have spent a bit of time in our
closets recently due to storm activity and general hardware failure in
our dorms and I'm not seeing that many blinking lights either. I
wouldn't be surprised if it was actually less than 10%.

So about 10% of the registered machines are using the wire in dormitories!
