Hello List

we are an institute running small wlan system with WS-C3750G-24WS-S25 and 23 APs (1130AG).

Sine one week we have an dramatically decrease of our WLAN performance. But only in the receiving direction, that means when we download files especially from our smb servers it is totally slow 50-100kbyte/s with windows XP clients and MAC-Clients. The sending direction is fine we get up to 3MByte/s to the file servers.

The WS-C3750G-24WS-S25 is running IOS 12.2(44)SE2 and WLAN code 5.1.151.0. There are no issues on the switch and down link site, the wired network is very fast.

If we look on the AP statistics every the numbers are not bad and we have a 48 - 54 MBit wireless connection to the AP but very slow throughput. The TX packets fragment count of some AP is up to 30%, is this normal? Why the packets are fragmented? Most of the WLAN settings in the WLC are default (Fragment Threshold) etc.

If we disable *delayed ACKs on the WLAN client* (XP and MAC-OS) we get the speed back to 1,5Mbyte/s!

Any Hint is welcome!

Thanks Gregor
