I have not heard anything on EOS dates, although I've heard rumors that Cisco will only be releasing a couple more updates after their 7.0.172.0 version and then you'll either have to upgrade to NCS or live with the last supported version.
Jezz is correct. The upgrade is effectively free. We've only seen a demo and it looks nice. I'm waiting on answers to find out exactly which features/functionality might be lost. We do a lot of CSV reporting and my fear is that some of the format might change. The core of the WCS functionality seems to still be there, with what appears to be significant improvements. I would expect a lot more surprises with this new Cisco Prime strategy. Hopefully they are good.
