Crew,
I am looking for some advice about outdoor mesh AP and the need for battery
backup.
We will be installing several outdoor Mesh APs on parking lot light polls. We
will tap-in to the power at the polls and connect the APs.
For those of you that have installed outdoor Mesh APs:
Did you purchase batteries to clean-up the power?
If you did.
Do you regret it from a maintenance aspect?
How often do
you have to replace the batteries?
Are there any other issues
besides the on-going maintenance activities?
If you didn't.
Do you wish you purchased the batteries?
What is your equipment failure
rate?
Are there any other
non-monetary concerns that we should consider by not having the batteries (such
as distraction from up/down monitoring and alarming during power outages)?
