I did notice that the vWLC only supports 3,000 clients, where the 5508s support 7K clients. Both give you different options/dropdown menus, etc. Maybe the cisco prime infrastructure has always had these themes, but coming from WCS/NCS this was new to me. I'm including this link which shows you how to add a controller, which is a little different in the lifecycle theme.
