I failed to mention that you pay for maintenance per AP as well.  If I did
a straight up replacement of all access points on campus, at the rates I am
currently paying, Aerohive maintenance would be double
my Aruba maintenance, making long term cost comparisons very close.

To bring this back around, I like the solution.  If the approach and
numbers work for you, I would recommend an eval in a live environment.
